What to expect from your first trimester
Baby: Your baby is developing rapidly during this trimester. Starting as a single cell, your little one will quickly grow the beginnings of arms, legs, hands, feet, fingers, and toes!
What’s growing this trimester?
- Hair, skin, and nails
- Intestines
- Kidneys
- Eyes
- Heart
- Brain
It is very important to take care of your body so you can support this important growth of your baby.
Momma: Your body is rapidly changing too as your hormones change to support the new life growing inside you. Many first trimester symptoms can be blamed on these hormones.
You may experience:
- Tender (and growing!) breasts
- Mood swings
- Lack of energy
- Morning sickness. Morning sickness can occur at any time during the day and may or may not cause vomiting.
Try eating small, frequent meals and avoiding heavy or greasy foods to help with morning sickness. If you are vomiting excessively or feel your morning sickness is severe, work with your doctor for other possible treatments.
