We’ve recently received reports from Health Choice Utah (HCU) members being told that only one Durable Medical Equipment (DME) supplier in Utah is authorized to provide oxygen concentrators. While that’s true for some counties, it’s not true for all counties. Below is a quick guide for your reference. Please note, HCU has many contracted DME providers in mandated counties that can provide oxygen concentrators.

• FEE-FOR-SERVICE MEMBERS AND HCU MEMBERS WHO HAVE VOLUNTARILY ENROLLED IN AN ACO IN A NON-MANDATORY COUNTY
  Alpine Home Medical Equipment (888-988-2469) is the contracted supplier for these members.

• HCU MEMBERS LIVING IN A MANDATED COUNTY 
  HCU members living in Box Elder, Cache, Davis, Iron, Morgan, Rich, Salt Lake, Summit, Tooele, Utah, Wasatch, Washington, or Weber counties can go to any DME provider contracted with HCU for an oxygen concentrator.

Please share this important information with your teams that send or receive referrals for oxygen, including hospital or skilled nursing discharge planning staff and respiratory therapy staff.
