How to Find a Provider & Navigate Our Provider Directory
Finding the right doctor, clinic, or specialist shouldn’t be stressful. University of Utah Health Plans makes it easy for members to search for in-network providers directly from our website. Whether you’re looking for a primary care provider, specialist, hospital, or behavioral health provider, our online Provider Directory helps you quickly find care that fits your needs.
Follow the simple steps below to get started.
Step 1: Go to the Provider Directory
You can reach the Provider Directory in two ways:
Option 1: Log in to the Member Portal (Recommended)
For the quickest and most accurate results, log in to the Member Portal.
Once logged in, look for the Quick Access section on the homepage and click “Find a Doctor or Facility.”
This will take you directly to the Provider Directory, and your provider network will automatically be selected for you.
Option 2: Visit Our Main Website
(Public Search)
You can also go to uhealthplan.utah.edu and click “Find a Doctor” in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
If you use this option, you’ll need to manually select your provider network before searching. Check your member ID card for your plan name before starting your search.
Step 2: Use Filters to Narrow Your Search
Use the available filters to narrow down your results and find providers who best match your needs:
- Enter your ZIP code to locate providers near you.
- Filter by specialty (for example, hospital, urgent care, or behavioral health).
- If you filter by Other, you will see facility-based providers such as Home Health Agencies, Home Medical Supplies/Durable Medical Equipment providers, and Residential Treatment Facilities.
Once your selections are made, click "Search Providers” to view matching results.
On the results page, you can use the gray filter pane on the left-hand side of the screen to narrow your results. Be sure to select the “Search” button at the bottom of the pane to apply your filters.
Step 3: Review Provider Details
Click on a provider’s name to view important details, including:
- Enter your ZIP code to locate providers near you.
- Contact information
- Clinic location(s)
- Specialty and areas of focus
- Hospital affiliations
- Network participation
This information can help you decide whether a provider is a good fit for you.
